We The People

We are The People who make up the United States of America. We have the freedom to speak, and express equality for ALL Americans, not just a small group of citizens.
.
DBLO
was on hand this afternoon to represent the foundation insured by our forefathers over 250 years ago. This day, January 21, 2017, marked a new chapter in history.

From Washington, DC to the Alaskan shores, in minus13 degree weather, the voices of our sisters, mothers and friends echoed across the skies. Let Freedom Ring, as they sang the songs of our negro ancestors.

We can't stop...

We won't stop...I prayed at home and kept a light surrounding all the demonstrators as I worked at the dealership...

The picture above means more to me than you will ever know because I practice mediation and follow the principals necessary for better living. I believe we all have the same abilities...

A peaceful demonstration.

Meditation Still here... through my experience  represents the strength of the lotus, protecting the environment, that was, and is dedicated to the importance of the message ... Meditation rocks and so does a healthy balanced life.

About Life:
Sister Judith Lewis representing DBLO, Dominique Banos Law Offices, Beaumont Texas, is the First Lady of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She and her husband, Rev. Gregory W. Lewis, sponsors an on going exercise class, at their church, twice a week, called, "Fit For The Kingdom"... I challenge other spiritual leaders to take action against obesity in their congregation. Let us all get FIT together, and strive for a greater existence in the skin of America to combat the hate that is brewing, within and without.
Human Life and Human Rights matters.

We LOVE USA!

My DBLO Recap!

Hope you're having a great New Year so far!

Thanks for being here, and also, a brief reminder to call Dom...

Dom's Law Firm has gotten off on a tremendously great start for the new year!
I'm telling everyone that I meet about Dominique because, no one should go at it alone! Trying a case is no joke, learning to speak the law lingo, knowing the right and proper etiquette is the reason their are Law schools. I'm just saying...if you find yourself in a jam, for any Civil, Family or Criminal matter; if you care about yourself and your family, then call Dom. It wont cost you anything to seek advice, however, it may cost you a lot more, if you don't. Take my advice...It's a New Year, so why not do it differently this time around...don't be shy, give her a call, and tell her that her mom made the suggestion.

Dom's mom with Ms. Patti.
We were enjoying ourselves at the Fundraiser that took place on my birthday, Dec. 17, 2016.
We both are very proud of our daughters who are captivating the planet!
Patti's daughter is an amazing artist, and my daughter, well...she's making a name for herself in the judicial system, helping, serving and defending the rights of others. Patti's daughter is doing the same thing, however through a different venue. No wonder we became close friends in such a short period of time.

This picture is a clip that I had posted shortly after our event for Facebook! We were so proud of our success with the Office Warming and Toy Drive Fundraiser. The toys collected were fabulous! Dom took them directly to the club, which brought extreme joy to the faces and homes of the kids. We will do it again and even bigger next time around. I'm requesting, all of my friends and associates to please mark their calendars now for DBLO's 1st Year Anniversary Celebration, and her 2nd Annual Christmas Toy Drive for The Boy's and Girls Club of Watts-Willowbrook of 2017!

My niece made the journey, all the way from Houston, Texas with her mommy and granny, to be a part of the celebration.
We were extremely proud and blessed to have them with us. Her granny gave a very beautiful & heartfelt blessing, helping us kick off the office festivities that evening.

Believe me when I say, Dominique worked hard to have her dream realized.
However, far more than her dreaming into space, took dedication, commitment, focus, positive action, determination, and sacrifice. Yes, sacrifice, which could have been the hardest part of the journey. Through my experience, one must be willing to give up something smaller, to make room for something greater. By the way, you can find the above article hanging in a frame on Dom's wall, inside her DTLA office. ...Will somebody please call Mr. Underwood?

We're very proud of this young and beautiful ( inside and out), talented, positive, forever caring and smiling, Attorney at Law, Let her be YOUR VOICE...Ms. Dominique Elvira Banos, Esq. Let her fight for you.

Team Dom!

This is an amazing assortment of toys that were collected on behalf of the Watts-Willowbrook Boys and Girls Club, Christmas 2016, www.wwbgclub.org. Thank you to those who came out to support my daughter's vision. Because of you, the Fundraiser was a huge SUCCESS...Giving is LOVE, thank you all for showing your hearts that evening...

That's all I have to say for now...

The Premier Fundraiser, Toy Drive & Office Warming

Just to sum it up in my words, and on video...

A major Thank You to those who attended Dom's first Annual Toy Drive & Fundraiser, and brought, such amazingly striking toys and gifts for the kids at The Boys & Girls Club of Watts-Willowbrook! You made us proud!

There were over 50 of you in attendance and you all brought your special gifts & qualities that ignited a beautiful blessing.

Announcement:

There were businesses who did not have to donate to our cause, however, they did...on such a short notice. I am grateful to them, and I am asking if you would please patronize these establishments when you have a need, or just happen to be in the area. Tell your family members and your friends about them.

These establishments generously donated items for our raffle, creating fun & prosperity as it flowed though out the evening.

We raised just under $300 dollars as a result of the raffle. 100 % of the proceeds will go directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Watts-Willowbrook in addition to the toys & gifts.

Even though I did not reach my target $ amount, I am still humbled, grateful and in awe over these establishments and their kindness to our Fundraiser:

  • Raul's Jewelry & Watch Repair, West Hills, CA.
  • Joan Clark Studios, Joan Clark Sculptor, Sherman Oaks, CA.
  • Silverlake Wine, Silver Lake, CA.
  • Follow Your Heart Natural Foods Market, Canoga Park, CA.
  • Vitamin Barn, West Hills, CA.
  • Whole Foods Market, DTLA, CA
  • Patricia Vargas, Woodland Hills, CA.
  • Judith Lewis, St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Beaumont, Texas
  • Black Tie & Blue Jeans Catering, Pico Rivera, CA.
To the business establishments:
Your kind generosity helped create a memorable event, and established a yearly tradition for years to come.

Again, Thank YOU
for being a part of my Birthday Celebration too!

Happy Holidays to you & yours

All I want for my Birthday

I just created this display for my daughter's upcoming Fundraiser, to be held on my birthday, this Saturday, December 17th.

All I want for my birthday is my daughter's success as a LA Attorney, and for her to experience phenomenal joy in receiving monetary donations and toys for the Boys and Girls Club of Watts-Willowbrook this weekend.

At the same time, I am very excited about the arrival of my baby sister, Judith Marie Collins-Lewis, who will be flying in from Beaumont, Texas.

Judy is the First Lady at St. Luke's Missionary Baptist Church in Beaumont. I am hoping she will be able to help us kick off the evening with a prayer. I am putting in my request now.

Judy will be attending Dom's event with her daughter Kamisha and granddaughter Kamora. It will be their first visit to LA.

Just a reminder, Dominique is on call during the Holidays in case of emergency. Remember to Keep Calm & Call Dom  (818) 452-5542. Don't get caught up, life can be over, within the blink of an eye.

Don't Play Yourself. Call Dom: https://youtu.be/mib8X6tkYXU.

Happy Holidays!

Getting Ready!

" Hanging pictures and putting final touches on the office was a blast last Monday."

"This is a photograph taken with my Samsung Galaxy of a beautiful Sunset as we were
exciting the building from the roof top of Dom's office!"

"Driving back to the valley from DTLA was a piece of cake!"

Getting Ready!

We are approaching the big day, December 17th, Dom's Grand Opening & Toy Drive. It's a Fundraiser/Office Warming Holiday Event...The Fundraiser will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Watts-Willowbrook, South Los Angeles.

I am very proud of my daughter and her conviction towards life, freedom & the Justice System.

I asked her, what influenced her decision to specialize in Criminal Defense?

Her response flowed, without hesitation, She said, "There are many innocent men & women locked up, simply because they lacked proper representation."

That statement alone, proved to me that my daughter is truly one of the special ones (OK, I knew it all-along) LOL.

Dom is driven from within.

I truly believe, she will make a huge impact on the legal justice system, in fact, she's already making a difference by dedicating her life to being part of a solution in this world.

Just thinking back when Dominique was a 1L Law Student; her first internship was at Compton Court House, which happens to be the same location where she was sworn in, as an Attorney, by Compton's Superior Court Judge, the Honorable Kelvin D. Filer. That day, we were given a history lesson, by Judge Filer, on the origin of, "Passing the Bar". I look forward to seeing him again, at her office warming celebration this Saturday.

Now, as a mother, I ponder about the type of professional my daughter will ultimately become?
After all, she has the best role models and mentors supporting her on her journey.

No doubt, Dom is a person of moral character first and far most! She is a female Attorney leading the way for those misunderstood, often silent voices; full of zeal, dynamics and charm, of course, intelligence too!

As the mother, of Dominique, at Dominique Banos Law Offices, your voice will be heard & articulated for the best possible outcome. I just know it!

I thank the Lord for all of our blessings thus far, and for reaching out to Dom's clients and blessing them; all those folks, all races, religions, the non-religious, every gender, including millennials, seniors, and boomers connected to the path of Dominique - I Thank You for what you bring and have brought into our lives.

Merry Christmas!

Call Dom!

THIS CHRISTMAS!
2016

Just want to convey my Holiday Spirit while sharing my thoughts about my daughter, who became an attorney just this year in May, 2016.

Following the "Swearing In Ceremony", she decided to open her own business in, LA, a Law Firm, no doubt. It's a Boutique Southern California Law Firm, located in the heart of DTLA!
I have sooo much to be grateful for that I do not have time to concentrate on my little problems, and I must share my thoughts with others about this important matter.

First, I would like to say, I am humbled and grateful to my family and friends, to the all pervading power of the Universe; however, I don't want to sound preachy, just humbly grateful, if I can say that...

I know it did not happen just by chance; it's a feeling that I carry deep inside of me... "It takes a village!"

It took many family members & friends praying, God's Divine Intervention with Dom's dedication, preparation and commitment to pass the California State Bar Exams, as you may have heard, it's one of the hardest Exams in the nation; plus staying healthy, determined and on the right track was a serious commitment.

Dominique is a courageous young woman. I wonder just where did she get her tenaciousness from? (LOL).

After all, it was no joke being brought up in a single parent household, raised predominately in affluent areas of the San Fernando and Conejo Valleys of Southern California.

It was both hard and risky, however, a risk well worth the journey of every joy & discomfort along the way.

However, the journey is not over my friends!

We still have a ginormous mountain that is remaining to climb.  The good news is, I can see the top from where we are standing. It looks pretty good & vibrant from what I  can see.

This part of the climb is not easy, because the path can be slippery, and steep, there could be predators lurking in the shadows, which marks another pivotal point in our lives together, and the reason for my note.

I'm spearheading a Grass root Marketing Campaign, alerting all my family, including spiritual sisters & brothers, friends, and your friends, to share the news that a new Lawyer is in Town!

Her name is Dominique. She is Passionate, Beautiful, Articulate and will be Dedicated to their cause. I know, because she was raised in an environment of givers and listeners, like me, from my parents,  honesty, and integrity above dishonesty and propaganda.

Please help me spread the word and let's help lift Dom's business off the ground propelling her with a list of clients so long that she will be forced to move into the larger corner office on her floor. (LOL).

Share the video from YouTube with everyone you know and ask if they would be so kind to share as well.

There is power when people of faith come together and work together for a common good.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Wishing you Joy and Great Health during this beautiful Holiday Season!

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah!

Kwanza too...

Kindest Regards

Dom's Mom
